Guests often have some downtime in between park days while at Disney World. Whether for an afternoon or a whole day, they look for unique or memorable ways to enjoy their “off” day. One such activity that has gained popularity is the Disney World Skyliner Bar Crawl.

Skyliner Bar Crawl

This activity combines the scenic beauty of Disney World with the fun of discovering themed bars and lounges scattered throughout the resorts.

We’ve compiled our ultimate guide to the Disney World Skyliner Bar Crawl. Let’s review the Skyliner, its routes, and the delightful array of bars awaiting intrepid explorers.

Disney World Skyliner Bar Crawl Guide (2024)

Disney World Skyliner Bar Crawl Stops

You can start this crawl at any Skyliner location, but we like to start with the “okayest” bars on the property and move to the nicer options throughout the day.

Our Recommendation: Start at Disney’s Pop Century Resort

Open Hours: 11 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.

Petals Pool Bar sits near the Hippy Dippy pool at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. This turquoise stand adorned with red and orange 1970s-inspired flower petals opens at 11 a.m.

We suggest reading our comprehensive guide to Pop Century for more information about this groovy hotel.

Petals Pool Bar

Petals Pool Bar has specialty cocktails, including the Pineapple Mule, Blueberry Lemonade, and Captain’s Mai Tai. Select drafts, cans, and wines are available as well.

Unfortunately, there is not much shade at this poolside bar. You can hope for a cloudy-ish day and sit under one of the few umbrella tables.

We recommend grabbing your drinks and walking around the resort, taking in the gigantic statues and unique theming.

You can find the Petals Pool Bar menu here.

Next Stop: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Open Hours: 11 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is the next stop in our Disney World Skyliner Bar Crawl. You can walk across Hourglass Lake to The Drop Off Pool Bar.

Themed to Finding Nemo, this poolside bar resembles Petals at Disney’s Pop Century – a single building with a small array of cocktails, beers, and wines.

The Drop Off Pool Bar

We loved the Big Blue Ocean, a vodka and rum drink with a signature glow cube. Frozen beverages are also available, perfect for a sweet yet refreshing way to start your bar crawl.

You can find The Drop Off menu here.

Third Stop: Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

Open Hours: 11 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

After your delicious libations at The Drop Off, hop on the Skyliner to the main hub. That is where Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort guests hop on and off as they visit theme parks and resorts.

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is a Moderate resort and is expansive. It is a LARGE resort with many buildings.

So, you’ll want to put on your walking shoes for this stop.

The closest pool bar is Banana Cabana near the resort’s main lobby.

Here, you’ll find more than basic snacks and cocktails. This resort offers a mid-bar crawl pick-me-up with appetizers and entrees.

Of course, if you are ONLY here for drinks, consider the Goombay Smash or Tropical Island Iced Tea. Both drinks are delicious!

You can find Banana Cabana’s Menu here.

Note: If you want to lessen your walking, make Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort your FOURTH stop and walk from the Riviera Resort.

Final Stop: Disney’s Riviera Resort

If you stop at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, trek back to the central hub to take the Skyliner to Disney’s Riviera Resort.

Disney's Riviera Skyliner

Or, walk from Banana Cabana to Disney’s Riviera Resort! (I know that might disqualify the “Skyliner Bar Crawl” experience, but it’s a long walk back after a few drinks.)

Either way, land yourself at one of the newest hotels on Disney World property. This Disney Vacation Club resort has two bars available. It’s your choice – tackle one or both?

Bar Riva

Open Hours: 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Bar Riva is the pool bar at Disney’s Riviera Resort. This open-air bar is open to the public and is one of our favorite stops on the crawl.

Bar Riva

This location offers plenty of unique cocktails, wines, and beers. We love the Provence Frose, Almonde Grog, and Riviera Spiked Iced Tea.

If you’re feeling peckish, nosh on one of the available handhelds, salads, or appetizers.

You can find the Bar Riva menu here.

Bar Riva Food

Le Petit Café

Open Hours: 7 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Enjoy a libation at Le Petit Café in the lobby if dessert is calling your name. Parisian-inspired treats adorn the confectionary shelves.

Best of all, you can snag select wines, cocktails, and beer. Who doesn’t love a little chocolate and wine to finish the day?

You can enjoy your drinks and pastries in the library adjacent to the cafe. We adore the theming in this room, which offers peace and quiet after a long day at pool bars.

Common Skyliner Bar Crawl Questions

What is the Disney Skyliner?

Good question! The Skyliner is Disney World’s newest form of transportation.

This state-of-the-art gondola system provides guests with a bird’s-eye-view of resorts and parks while offering efficient transportation between select Disney Theme Parks and resorts.

Disney Skyliner

With its colorful cabins adorned with beloved Disney characters, the Skyliner isn’t just transportation – it’s an experience! We love simply riding on the Skyliner and viewing Disney World as the cars and buses hustle below.

Where does the Skyliner go?

The Skyliner travels from Pop Century and Art of Animation resorts to the central hub at the Caribbean Beach Resort. From there, you can embark directly to Hollywood Studios or the Riviera Resort and EPCOT.

You’re able to reach the following theme parks by Skyliner:

  • EPCOT
  • Hollywood Studios

The following hotels are available directly via Skyliner:

  • Pop Century
  • Art of Animation
  • Caribbean Beach Resort
  • Riviera Resort

*You can also visit EPCOT resorts by taking the Skyliner.* You can walk from Hollywood Studios (about 20 minutes) or EPCOT’s International Gateway (5 – 20 minutes). You’ll be able to visit the following resorts:

  • BoardWalk Inn
  • Beach Club
  • Yacht Club
  • Swan, Dolphin, & Swan Reserve

For our bar crawling purposes, we will discuss the ideal route for the Skyliner-direct hotels: Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, and Riviera. Of course, if you’re feeling cheeky, you can also throw in one of the other resorts.

Do I need to pay for the Disney Skyliner?

No! You can hop on the Skyliner from a resort, Hollywood Studios, or EPCOT.

Note: If you want to access the Skyliner from Hollywood Studios, you will pay a parking fee. To access the Skyliner through EPCOT, you’ll either need to leave the park at the International Gateway or park at one of the EPCOT-area resorts listed above (which may still have a parking fee).

What should I bring for my Disney Skyliner Bar Crawl?

Honestly, you don’t need much. But you’ll want to bring these essentials for any Disney day:

  • Sunscreen
  • Water
  • ID
  • Payment (cash, credit cards, MagicBand, etc.)
  • Comfortable walking shoes and clothing

Remember: You can ask for FREE cups of water at pool bars. Just ask!

Can I bring alcohol on the Skyliner?

You must finish your drink before embarking on your next Skyliner adventure.

How many can fit on the Disney Skyliner?

You can fit up to ten guests! That’s quite the crew. But, if you need to, you can split your party. No worries, you’ll all arrive at the same destination!
