Bite-Sized: Territory Lounge Review

Territory Lounge at Wilderness Lodge

Onward, to Territory Lounge!

The indoor lounge of Wilderness Lodge, Territory Lounge fits the aesthetic of its surroundings with a rustic and rugged charm akin to a fort you’d stop at for resupply on your way Westward on the Oregon Trail.

In true frontier fashion, whiskey and bourbon drinks are the main offerings on their signature menu, though the bar comes fully equipped in case you’re in the mood for something off-theme. Beers on tap were limited, but I’d say that isn’t really the vibe of this place.

The massive map on the ceiling combines well with the dark tones of the interior design and really sends home the message that this is a place to relax and unwind.

On the whole, we liked the bar seating. It never feels like you’re right in the face of the bartenders while they’re making drinks, but it’s not so far away that you can’t hold a conversation when things get slow.

Besides the bar itself, the seating is very lounge-like; low tables surrounded with log-theme chairs with leathery cushions. For those who aren’t on the tall side, the short tables may make it difficult to relax without getting in your sit-ups to reach your drink.

Since Territory Lounge is the main bar for the inside of Territory Lounge, bartenders can get pretty backed-up with to-go orders. That, and if you happen to stop by at the same time as one of the Lodge’s character dining experiences, things could get slow, as the lounge bar is responsible for the drinks provided during the show. Thankfully, the whole team was really on top of things and we never experienced any backups.

Every cast member we had the good fortune to chat with was delightful. We really got the sense that everyone–from the bartenders to the management – all knew their stuff and were passionate about both the products they were providing and the work they were doing.

On the days when the Florida weather cooperates enough for a relaxing boat trip, Territory Lounge is worth the ride.
