Complete Guide to Visiting 4 Disney Parks in One Day

I know we tout about having a relaxing day in the parks quite a bit in this blog, but this is not one of them. :)

Doing all four Walt Disney World parks in one day is not exactly a chill experience, but it is one of the most satisfying challenges you can tackle.

Let’s be honest: you won’t see everything. You will not ride everything. But with the right park order, smart transportation, realistic expectations, and a few well-timed snacks or lounge breaks, you can absolutely visit all four theme parks in a day and still have fun doing it.

Before You Start: What You Need

To make this work, you need to know upfront that this is not a casual day. You’ll need:

  • A Park Hopper ticket or Annual Pass
  • Comfortable shoes
  • A portable charger
  • A little flexibility

The goal is to touch all four parks, enjoy some highlights, and keep moving. If someone tries to squeeze in Flight of Passage, Rise of the Resistance, Guardians, TRON, fireworks, three table-service meals, and a lounge crawl…bless their heart, but no.

Our Park Order for Four Parks in One Day

On our latest trip, we made the challenge to do one major attraction, one atmosphere stop, and one snack or drink in each park. Here’s what we would tackle:

1. Start Early at Animal Kingdom

Goal time: Park opening to around 10:30AM
Transportation to start: Bus, rideshare, or drive

Animal Kingdom is the perfect first park because it often rewards early risers. The park feels a little more peaceful, and the animals tend to be more active. You can balance park chaos and beauty all in one pretty easy-going morning.

What to Do at Animal Kingdom

  • Rope drop Avatar Flight of Passage or Kilimanjaro Safaris
These are some big swings. If the wait is manageable, it’s worth it. If you want to splurge, you could always buy a Lightning Lane Single Pass for Flight of Passage.
  • Stop at Creature Comforts for Starbucks coffee
It’s early, right? Best java-up now.
  • Walk through Discovery Island or take in Feathered Friends in Flight
This is one of the most inspiring areas and shows on property. If you think you have a moment for a show, definitely take it in.

2. Transfer to Hollywood Studios

Goal time: Around 11:30AM

From Animal Kingdom, we would take a bus to Hollywood Studios. While an uber might be faster, we find that if we can save a few bucks while doing all of this, the better. We recommend having a travel buffer of 45-60 minutes between parks if taking Disney’s complimentary transportation.

Hollywood Studios can be tricky. The park itself has plenty of headliners that can eat your entire day if you let them. On this day, I would recommend picking one headliner to give yourself some wiggle room.

What to Do at Hollywood Studios

Here, I’d recommend one or two main priorities.

Our go-to attractions are:

  • Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
It’s a more central location and less physically intense ride, so you can save your stomach for a bite.
  • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
If it’s a surprisingly low wait or you want to make a stop at Oga’s, this is probably the best first stop.

If you’re looking for a light lunch or a libation, we’d recommend:

  • Baseline Tap House
This is probably the quickest lounge-style stop for a park day. Grab a beer, have a pretzel, and enjoy some outdoor seating while the crowds go by.
  • Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge
An excellent option if you want a more elevated break. It might be too leisurely if you’re running a bit behind, but it might be worth it to put your feet up for awhile.

If you need a super-quick stop, try:

  • Ronto Roasters for a quick, satisfying meal
  • Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo for something more filling
  • Woody’s Lunch Box if you’re committed to Slinky Dog Dash

3. Head to EPCOT

Goal time: Around 2:30/3:00PM
Recommended travel buffer: 35 to 60 minutes

This is where transportation will be…interesting. You have plenty of options, and we’d argue that it’s all based on availability.

Option 1: Disney Skyliner
Take the Skyliner from Hollywood Studios to EPCOT via the hub at Caribbean Beach. This is a more scenic experience on the whole but can eat up some time if there are lines.

Option 2: Friendship Boat
Once again, a slower but more relaxing experience. The boat ride itself is around 25 minutes we’ve noticed because they make multiple stops at the nearby resorts. Like the Skyliner, you’ll be dropped near EPCOT’s International Gateway.

Option 3: Walk
More walking? Yep. The walking path from Hollywood Studios is pretty underrated though. If the weather is decent and your feet are still cooperating, this might be the ticket. No sharing gondolas, no hearing other people’s conversations, no being crowded against a boat bench…it’s just you and your party. Better yet, if you have time for it, stop for a margarita on the BoardWalk. (Trust us, you’ll thank us later.)

What to Do at EPCOT

Chances are, you’re going to end up at EPCOT’s International Gateway. From here, I’d recommend the following attractions, so you’re not zipping around everywhere:

  • Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
It’s convenient, but wait times can be high. If they’re outside of your time budget, probably best to move on.
  • Frozen Ever After
Fun, but not always the best use of time unless you plan on walking around World Showcase
  • Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
If you want to ignore my advice (lol) or hit the ultimate headliner, you’re going to have to make your way to the front of the park. This can eat up significant time, but it could be worth it if it’s the only thing you want to do at EPCOT.

If you have time to have a drink or snack at this point, I’d recommend the following for a sit-down experience:

  • La Cava del Tequila
A favorite of ours. Lines can get long, especially during peak season, but it’s worth it for a place to sit and a refresh.
  • Rose & Crown Pub
If you’re at International Gateway and just finished Remy’s, head over the UK for a pint. The seating views are spectacular and the pub itself is lively. Note: After 3:30ish, the restaurant gets cleared out to prepare for dinner. A host will let you know ahead of time.
  • Space 220 Lounge
Fun if you can get walk-up lounge availability! While it’s definitely an experience, it’s not something I would build our day around unless it’s a priority.

Different EPCOT Strategies

The nice thing about EPCOT is that there is plenty to do. In a way, this park can be a “choose your own adventure.” You could have anything, like:

  • A Ride-Focused Stop: Choose Guardians + one calmer attraction (Spaceship Earth, anyone?)
  • A Foodie Stop: Festival booths or World Showcase for snacks!
  • A Lounge Stop: A drink or two and a slow lap through World Showcase
  • A Recovery Stop: Living with the Land, Spaceship Earth, a quick bite, and a much-needed water stop

4. Monorail to Magic Kingdom

Goal time: Around 7:00PM to park close
Recommended travel buffer: 45 to 75 minutes

While you could ridehsare/Minnie Van to Magic Kingdom and save some time, I find that that monorail is still a valued experience. It’s a classic Disney transportation route that feels very appropriate for a park challenge. That said, you’ll need to transfer at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) onto a ferryboat or second monorail to get to Magic Kingdom.

Magic Kingdom is the perfect finale because it feels more classically Disney. Even if you’re exhausted, walking down Main Street, U.S.A. at night gives the day a proper ending.

What to Do at Magic Kingdom

At this point, the park is very much your oyster. You should still keep realistic expectations, but you’re able to finish strong on some very popular attractions. Here’s what we try to do:

  • Head to Jungle Cruise
If the wait time is low, Adventureland is a solid first stop. If you want, you can pick up a Dole Whip along the way.
  • Stop to Haunted Mansion
    It’s the perfect nighttime energy.

From there, you have two different options:

  1. Focus on attractions only — this is where you’d miss the fireworks. Is that a deal-breaker? It’s up to you.
  2. Head to the castle hub for a fireworks and nighttime parade spot.

If you’ve been to the parks before, you’ll probably choose option 2. If that’s the case, then we’d recommend:

  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Only if the wait is reasonable.
  • TRON Lightcycle / Run
Once again, this would probably the end of your night.

With that in mind, just know that this isn’t the definitive strategy every time. Often, we check wait times and dictate the route from there. This is just a general guide to help with initial planning. :)

The Adulting WDW Take

I’ve always felt like visiting all four parks in one day is more about having a memorable Disney day than trying to maximize every dollar spent. You’re not riding all the rides or eating all the food — even though that’d be my ultimate wish. You’re riding a few iconic attractions, having a few snacks, and perhaps getting one great lounge stop in.

If you set your expectations right, the accomplishment is well-worth the journey.
