Disney's Yacht Club - An EPCOT-Area Resort

Disney World is not just for families with kids in tow. In fact, choosing the right resort can make an adults-only trip feel more like a relaxing getaway and less like a nonstop theme park sprint.

The best Disney World resorts for adults usually have a few things in common: easy access to good dining, strong transportation options, walkable surroundings, lounges or bars worth visiting, and an atmosphere that still feels fun without feeling chaotic. Some are perfect for couples who want a romantic trip. Others work better for friends who want to spend time in EPCOT, lounge-hop, or enjoy the parks at a slower pace.

If you are trying to figure out where adults should stay at Disney World, this guide breaks down the best options and why they stand out.

What makes a Disney World resort good for adults?

Adults usually prioritize Disney resorts differently than families do. A great adults-only resort is not always the one with the biggest pool slide or the most kid-focused extras. Instead, it tends to be the one that helps the whole trip feel easier, calmer, and more enjoyable.

A few things matter most.

Walkability and transportation

Being able to walk to EPCOT, hop on the Skyliner, or take a short boat ride to dinner can make a huge difference. Adults often build trips around dining, drinks, and atmosphere, so convenient transportation matters just as much as the room itself.

Dining and lounges nearby

A resort with a great lounge, signature restaurant, or easy access to nearby resort dining can feel much more satisfying for adults than a resort that is mostly built around food court convenience.

Atmosphere

Some Disney resorts feel lively in a fun way. Others feel busy in a way that can wear on you after a long park day. For adults, theming can still matter a lot, but the overall mood matters more.

Location for your trip style

Not every adults-only Disney trip looks the same. Someone planning an EPCOT-heavy trip may want a Crescent Lake resort, while someone looking for romance may prefer a Monorail-area deluxe stay. A more budget-conscious couple may be perfectly happy with Pop Century if transportation and price are the main priorities.

1. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

If you are planning a Disney World trip that revolves around EPCOT evenings, resort hopping, and being able to walk almost everywhere, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is one of the best picks for adults.

The biggest advantage here is location. You can walk to EPCOT’s International Gateway and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which makes it incredibly easy to plan slower mornings, midday breaks, or late-night park exits without depending on buses.

The area itself also feels especially adult-friendly. You have the BoardWalk atmosphere at night, nearby lounges and restaurants, and easy access to neighboring resorts like Yacht Club, Beach Club, and the Swan and Dolphin area. It feels lively, but not overly hectic.

    Why adults love it:

    • Walkable access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios
    • Strong dining and lounge options nearby
    • Fun nighttime energy without feeling overly loud
    • Ideal for couples and friend trips

Best for: adults planning an EPCOT-centered trip, date nights, and walkable resort stays.

    2. Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

Yacht Club is one of the strongest all-around Disney World resorts for adults because it strikes a great balance between location, comfort, and atmosphere.

Like BoardWalk, it gives you easy walking access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. But the vibe is a little quieter and more refined. It feels polished without being stuffy, and it is especially appealing for adults who want deluxe convenience without the heavier theming of some other Disney resorts.

This is also a great pick for adults who want to enjoy Crescent Lake without feeling like they are staying in the middle of the action every second. You are close to it all, but the resort itself feels calm.

      Why adults love it:

      • Excellent EPCOT-area location
      • Quieter atmosphere than some nearby resorts
      • Easy access to restaurants, bars, and lounges
      • Strong option for couples and relaxing deluxe stays

Best for: adults who want convenience and comfort with a calmer feel.

      3. Disney’s Beach Club Resort

Beach Club shares many of the same location perks as Yacht Club, but the overall mood feels a little lighter and more playful. It is still a strong adults-only choice, especially for travelers who want to stay close to EPCOT without going full BoardWalk energy.

This resort works well for adults who want deluxe convenience, beautiful surroundings, and a relaxed coastal atmosphere. It feels polished, but not formal.

That being said, the pool area (in our opinion) and walkway to/from EPCOT can have a heavier presence of children compared to the previous two mentioned. If you’re looking for a super-quiet experience, I’d probably suggest the BoardWalk or Yacht Club.

        Why adults love it:

        • One of the best walking locations on property
        • Easy access to EPCOT dining and festivals
        • Bright, breezy atmosphere
        • Ideal for relaxed adults-only vacations

Best for: Adults who want EPCOT access and a softer resort feel.

        4. Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

Coronado Springs is one of the most interesting options for adults because it often feels more grown-up than many moderates. Between the overall design, the dining and lounge options, and the convention-resort atmosphere, it can feel like a better fit for adults than some resorts that technically sit above or below it in Disney’s pricing structure.

It does not have the same walkability perks as the EPCOT-area resorts, but it can still be a strong value pick for adults who want a resort that feels more elevated without paying deluxe prices.

Be aware: if there is a convention or sports competition in town, this resort can get very busy — especially in the lobby areas. I’d suggest sticking closer to the lounges/quieter spots if you’re not into crowds at peak times.

          Why adults love it:

          • More mature atmosphere overall than many other non-deluxe options
          • Solid dining and lounge options
          • Beautiful grounds and a more polished overall feel
          • Often a good middle-ground value

Best for: adults who want an upscale feel without deluxe pricing.

          5. Disney’s Riviera Resort

Riviera is a strong choice for adults who want a quieter, more refined stay with easy Skyliner access. It feels elegant, compact, and convenient, which can make it especially appealing for couples or adults planning a more relaxed Disney trip.

The Skyliner is a major benefit here, especially for EPCOT and Hollywood Studios access. The resort also feels intentionally designed for slower mornings and calmer evenings.

That being said, taking the Skyliner can be a stressful experience, especially if you’re traveling from Riviera to the Skyliner depot to get to Hollywood Studios. You might have to share an already crowded gondola — thankfully, the ride isn’t too long!

            Why adults love it:

            • Skyliner access to two parks
            • Refined and quieter atmosphere
            • Beautiful design and dining options
            • Strong choice for couples

Best for: adults who want a quieter deluxe resort with easy(ish) transportation.

            6. Disney’s Swan and Dolphin

While not Disney-owned in the same way as the official Disney resorts, the Swan and Dolphin area is still one of the best answers to the question of where adults should stay at Disney World.

You still get the huge benefit of that EPCOT-area location, along with a more convention-friendly, hotel-style feel that can appeal to adults who want something less themed. For some travelers, that is a perk.

Does this save you money? Not always. But, it does have a familiar feel compared to spending serious $$$ on an unfamiliar resort.

              Why adults love it:

              • Excellent location near EPCOT and Hollywood Studios
              • More traditional hotel atmosphere
              • Good dining access with solid options within the hotel
              • Often worth considering for adults prioritizing location

Best for: adults who want walkability and a more standard hotel feel.

              7. Disney’s Pop Century Resort

Pop Century will not be the right fit for every adults-only trip, but hear me out…it deserves a place on this list because it delivers strong value and one of the best transportation setups in its price range.

The Skyliner changes the equation. For adults who want to spend a lot of time at EPCOT and Hollywood Studios without paying deluxe rates, Pop can be a very practical choice.

It is more playful and busier than the other resorts on this list, so it is not the best option if you are prioritizing romance or quiet. Still, for budget-conscious adults, it can work extremely well.

Not only is it more kid-friendly…you also get what you pay for. In our experience, the walls are pretty thin and you can hear just about everything. If you’re not in your room a lot, it might not be as much of an issue. If you value in-room time, you might want a different option.

                Why adults love it:

                • Strong value for the price
                • Skyliner access is a major plus
                • Easy home base for park-focused trips
                • Good option for adults who care more about function than luxury

Best for: budget-conscious adults and shorter park-heavy stays.

Which Disney World resort is best for adults?

Ultimately, the best Disney World resort for adults depends on what kind of trip you want.

If you want the most adult-friendly all-around location, BoardWalk Inn, Yacht Club, and Beach Club are hard to beat. If you want value with a more grown-up feel, Coronado Springs stands out. If you want quiet luxury and easy transportation, Riviera is a strong pick. And if budget matters most, Pop Century can still make a lot of sense.

For many adults, the real key is not just picking the nicest resort. It is picking the resort that matches the way you actually want to do Disney.

If your ideal trip includes EPCOT nights, long dinners, resort hopping, and slower mornings, the best resort may look very different than it would for a family trip with kids. That is exactly why choosing the right hotel matters so much.
