Picking the right Disney World resort is important, but choosing the right area can matter even more.

For many, the best area to stay at Disney World often depends on what kind of trip you want to have once you are off the bus, out of the room, and finished with the parks for the day. Some areas make it easy to walk to dinner, spend evenings in EPCOT, or hop between lounges. Others are better for convenience, quieter stays, or saving money while still staying connected to the action.

If you are wondering where adults should stay at Disney World, these are the main resort areas worth considering.

Pick #1: Crescent Lake / EPCOT Resort Area

For many adults, this is the best area to stay in Disney World.

The biggest reason is flexibility. You can walk to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, spend time on the BoardWalk, and easily access multiple lounges, restaurants, and resorts without making transportation feel like a project.

This area is especially appealing if your ideal Disney trip includes:

EPCOT evenings:

  • Festival time
  • Date nights
  • Resort hopping
  • Slower mornings and midday breaks

While this area is family-friendly, we find it’s best for:

  • Couples
  • Adults planning an EPCOT-heavy trip
  • Food-focused travelers
  • Anyone who values walkability

Resorts in this area:

  • BoardWalk Inn
  • Yacht Club
  • Beach Club
  • Swan and Dolphin

Pick #2: Monorail/Magic Kingdom Resort Area

If your adults-only trip leans more romantic, celebratory, or classic Disney, the Monorail area can be a very strong choice.

Also, while it isn’t a requirement for you to stay there, these resorts also make it easier to do a monorail bar crawl. ;)

This area gives you easy access to Magic Kingdom and nearby deluxe dining, and it tends to feel a little more elevated for special occasion trips. While it is not as naturally flexible for adults as the EPCOT resort area in terms of walkability, it can still be a great fit depending on your priorities.

Best for:

  • Special occasions
  • Couples who want a more iconic Disney feel
  • Adults planning signature dining and resort evenings

Resorts in this area:

  • Contemporary/Bay Lake Tower
  • Grand Floridian
  • Polynesian

Pick #3: Skyliner Resort Area

The Skyliner area is one of the most practical answers for adults who want convenience without always paying deluxe pricing.

Being able to quickly reach EPCOT and Hollywood Studios is a major perk, especially for adults who want to prioritize those two parks. This area is less about luxury and more about ease.

Best for:

  • Budget-conscious adults
  • Shorter trips
  • Adults focused on EPCOT and Hollywood Studios

Resorts in this area:

  • Riviera Resort
  • Pop Century
  • Caribbean Beach
  • Art of Animation, depending on budget and trip style

Pick #4: Disney Springs Area

For some adults, staying near Disney Springs can make a lot of sense, especially if dining and nightlife matter more than constant park access.

The appeal here is that your evenings can feel a little more open-ended. You are not as locked into a resort bubble built entirely around park days.

Best for:

  • Adults who want easy access to Disney Springs dining and shopping
  • More flexible non-park evenings
  • Those who don’t mind trading some Disney-immersive atmosphere for convenience

Alternative Option: Off-Site Near Disney World

This will not be the best fit for every adults-only trip, but staying off-site can work well when price, space, or flexibility matter more than full Disney convenience.

For adults who are comfortable using rideshare or driving, off-site hotels can free up budget for better dining, longer stays, or split-stay plans. The tradeoff is that the trip may feel less seamless.

Best for:

  • Budget-conscious adults
  • Travelers who want more hotel flexibility
  • Adults who are willing to trade some convenience for value

So, what is the best area to stay in Disney World for adults?

For most adults, the EPCOT resort area is the strongest overall choice. We recommend this area the most because it offers the best mix of walkability, dining, atmosphere, and flexibility.

That said, the best area for your trip depends on what you care about most. If you want romance and deluxe dining, the Monorail area may be more appealing. If you want easier transportation on a more reasonable budget, the Skyliner area has a lot going for it. If you want to stretch your trip budget, off-site can still work.

The best Disney World area for adults is usually the one that supports the kind of trip you actually want to have once the park day is over.
