I was wondering when this was going to happen, and I’m happy to say that Disney has finally announced that the BoardWalk is getting a new nightly spot!
Hurly-Burly opens October 1, 2026, along the BoardWalk waterfront (the former Jellyrolls dueling piano boar location). During the afternoon, it’ll offer trivia and games for all ages. Once 9 p.m. rolls around, however, the venue becomes exclusively for guests 21 and older, with live music, cocktails and small plates.
We definitely feel that is the kind of addition the BoardWalk has needed. It already has some of the best nighttime atmosphere at Walt Disney World, but the evening lineup has felt limited beyond its existing bars and Atlantic Dance Hall (which is only open a few days a week).
More details will come closer to opening, I’m sure, but here’s what we know so far:
The Hurly-Burly Menu
The menu seems to lean heavily into shareables, which is a great idea. After 9 p.m., I don’t really want a huge meal, especially if you’ve been in the parks all day.
From what Disney has teased, some of the menu options include roast beef sliders, oven-roasted shrimp, tomato pie, antipasto, and mini pretzels with bacon-cheese fondue.
The mini apple cider doughnuts with miso-caramel sauce sound delicious, by the way. Sweetness from the cider plus an umami funk make this a fusion worth exploring.
The drink menu seems more ambitious as well. The Caramel Corn Old Fashioned, made with Woodford Reserve bourbon, is probably the first thing I’d try. There’s also a spicy La Taquilla Picante margarita, an Overproof Amaretto Sour and the Mertini, a navy-strength gin martini that sounds appropriately serious for a night without children.
Several cocktails are also available from a walk-up window, too. So, you can still have a libation while watching the outside entertainment on the BoardWalk!
Where Hurly-Burly Fits Into Our Night Plans
Of course, Hurly-Burly is going to be especially convenient for anyone staying at Disney’s BoardWalk, Beach Club, Yacht Club, or the Swan and Dolphin. It’s also within walking distance of EPCOT’s International Gateway and accessible by boat or on foot from Hollywood Studios.
In our opinion, it’s the perfect send-off after an EPCOT day. You could have dinner at World Showcase, exit through International Gateway, and arrive at Hurly-Burly in time for the entertainment before the chaos of park close.
That said, if you want to visit the venue without a Disney Resort reservation or after a day in the park, that might get tricky. You can’t just take a bus from Disney Springs to the BoardWalk anymore — instead, you’d likely want to rideshare to Hollywood Studios, take transportation to the BoardWalk, and then rideshare back to your hotel/home from the BoardWalk after Hurly-Burly closes.
The venue will be walk-up only, which is both a perk and a potential opening-month problem. You won’t have to plan your evening 60 days ahead, but you also won’t know exactly how long the wait will be. If you’re visiting in October, I’d keep AbracadaBar or Crew’s Cup Lounge in mind as a backup.
The Adulting WDW Take
We’ll need to experience the live music, food, and prices before delcaring Hurly-Burly as a new must-do. Still, it’s nice that Disney is considering more adult-only venues. Plus, it fills a nighttime gap that the BoardWalk has desperately needed for a hot minute.
That said, Hurly-Burly sounds like it’ll be a great venue for a post-EPCOT drink, an easy arrival-night activity, or a more convenient alternative to Disney Springs for Disney Resort guests.
